Candle Mat

I decided to have a go at making a candle mat
for a swap that I am in later this year.
I looked around the internet at some patterns and settled
on this design, I just love the little snowmen out in the snow.

Elf stocking

I found a cute stitchery called Elf Stitchettes online
you can find it and download it  HERE

I wanted to make a stocking that resembled an elf stocking
but nothing quite fit, so I made my own template.
I have added a few bells as well.

I definately want to make the boy one now.

O' Christmas Tree

This is my second post of the day...Yay!
I have made a Christmas Tree wall hanging.
I got the idea from Gooseberry Patch Christmas book 13
It is an awesome way to use whatever gorgeous buttons
you may have in your stash.

The background fabric is from
Countdown to Christmas by Moda.

Just a little stitchery

I found this stitchery pattern in an old issue of Homespun
I decided to keep the embroidery hoop as it's frame
as it I think it suits the circle design :o)

Bell Jar Ornaments

I found the idea for these in
Gooseberry Patch Christmas book 13
They are called bell jar ornaments and are simply made
using disposable plastic wine glasses.
I have used the top of a few old baubles to attach a loop
through, so that I can hang them on my tree.

The first has is a plastic tree from one of my son's train
sets. I just glued some beads and gems and things on
it to make it look like a christmas tree.

the next one has a reindeer wine bottle cork stopper
and a christmas hair clip

and one for my daughter...a fairy :o)

Beaded Christmas Baubles

I made some beaded Christmas baubles for my christmas tree
they are very easy to make, just some polystyrene balls,
lots of beads, sequins, ribbon and any other trim you
may like. You can buy thinner pins, but I have used
dressmaker pins and a couple have hat pins as well.
Oh and very important, if you are going to use any
glue, use pva not the clear craft glues as they will
just eat into your polystyrene ball :o)

here is a close up of some...

Hello

I love making Christmas things all through out the year
so I have decided that it is time to start a blog that shares
all things christmas!
The name "Two Turtledoves"was inspired by my beautiful
children, I have a girl and a boy that were both born
in December (4 years apart). As the song says
On the second day of christmas my true love gave to me
two turtledoves.....
and a gift they really are, from the love of my life :o)
